The Design Process

  • 01 Research + Discovery

DPI ascertains the project's requirements to ensure both stylistic and functional goals are established. The client is asked to compile inspirational images to help set an overall tone for the home.

  • 02 Concept Development

DPI presents the client with mood boards, a preliminary budget estimate, and a project timeline. These reference documents provide the client with a clear picture of the proposed creative direction and ensure both parties remain in lockstep from a creative and financial perspective throughout the design process.

  • 03 Design Presentation

Comprehensive designs and corresponding fabrics, finishes, fixtures, paint/wallpaper, window treatments, and floor coverings are presented. Floor plans, elevations, design schematics, and/or renderings are also provided during this stage to help the client fully realize each room of their home.

  • 04 Purchasing

Once designs are approved, detailed proposals are created, including furnishing specifications, pricing, and lead times, for client approval. DPI places furnishing orders on the client’s behalf, and all relevant information is made available to the client via a shared document.

  • 05 Installation

DPI attends regular site visits to ensure design intent is achieved and that no detail is overlooked. Once furnishings are installed, accessories are brought in to style your home with a first layer of detail.

  • 06 Punch List

A punch list consisting of anything in need of completion/touch-up will be compiled. We will arrange to have each item on the list addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible. If there is something that is not right, we will ensure it is taken care of.
